Back behind the wheel after injury or illness.
A stroke, a spinal cord injury, an amputation, MS, a brain injury. When something changes how your body works, driving can feel out of reach. It might not be. A driving evaluation gives you a clear answer, and if you need it, the equipment and training to drive again.
You’re not alone.
Your doctor said not to drive until you’re cleared, and you don’t know who clears you.
You’re not sure your hands or legs can work the wheel and pedals the way they used to.
You’ve heard about hand controls and other equipment, but don’t know where to start.
You want your independence back, and you want to be safe doing it.
How we help
Four steps to the road.
Your doctor sends a referral for a driving evaluation.
We check vision, reaction time, cognitive and physical skills.
A behind-the-wheel evaluation in our dual-control car.
Results, recommendations and training if you need it.
Questions we hear.
Can I drive with hand controls?
Many people can. The evaluation shows which equipment fits your abilities, and then we practice with you until it feels natural.
Do I need a modified vehicle before the evaluation?
No. Evaluations happen in our dual-control vehicle. If you need equipment, you leave with a written recommendation.
How do I get started?
Ask your doctor for a referral for a driving evaluation, or call us and we’ll help you through it.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Call and we’ll help you check your coverage.
